Police link-up in crime crackdown
NORTH Yorkshire Police has linked up with forces from across the region to unveil new plans on cracking down on crime in areas including Scarborough.
The new relationship sees Grahame Maxwell, Chief Constable of North Yorkshire Police, team up with Sir Norman Bettison of West Yorkshire, Meredydd Hughes of South Yorkshire and Humberside’s Tim Hollis to share resources whilst cutting public spending.
The initiative will give officers further training to deliver the best service to people in Scarborough and the whole region.
Mr Maxwell said: “Combining the strengths and skills of the four Yorkshire forces enhances our mutual capability and capacity to deal with serious and organised crime and major incidents.
“Together we can take on these significant challenges from a position of strength and resilience, and continue to protect and serve our communities.”
