Party goes online to spread the word
THE Scarborough and Whitby Conservative Association has launched its own website – www.scarboroughandwhitbyconservatives .com
This is the first time the association has had a website and organisers say they are hoping to take advantage of the ever increasing popularity of the internet.
Association chairman Cllr Andrew Backhouse, said: “Since my election to the post of chairman the creation of an interactive website has been my number one priority. This is the first time that we have had a website and, in my opinion, it is long overdue.
“We have to recognise that more and more people are using the internet for social browsing and this is one way that our many supporters can keep up to date with happenings, and up and coming social events, within the local and national Conservative Party.”
