Nursing home's delight at success of piano appeal
MUSICAL entertainment is back on at a Scarborough nursing home following a successful appeal for a piano.
Dunollie Care Home in Filey Road asked for help via the Evening News after the piano they had on loan had to go back to its owner.
Sally Jones, activity organiser, said: “The response was overwhelming – we had about 30 people contact us with pianos in various states of repair.
“We were delighted to accept one from Friarage School, which plays beautifully. The residents and staff are absolutely delighted and we would like to thank everyone who contacted us for their support.”
Mrs Jones said there would be plenty going on at Dunollie during the run up to Christmas.
On Tuesday December 9 Bram- cote School choir will sing for residents, and on Saturday December 13 there will be a Christmas fair from 2-4pm. It will feature a tombola, raffle and stalls such as crafts, jewellery and flower displays.
Anyone who would like to have a stall at the event or donate a raffle or tombola prize should call Sally Jones on (01723) 516302 or 07737 264755.
