New police savings
POLICE in Scarborough will be part of a regionwide money-saving programme which aims to save a total of £7 million across forces in Yorkshire and the Humber.
It is one of a number of cost-cutting initiatives which have been introduced after four forces – in North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and Humberside – were set a savings target of £10 million over five years.
Under the regionwide programme vehicle maintenance, vehicle conversions and training costs will be kept in-house and vehicles will be supplied by Vauxhall and BMW.

Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 05:24 PMAll these savage cuts in the various services throughout the country are being imposed by a government who is more than happy to give billions of pounds of OUR money in foreign "aid" to other countries. At least one of these (India) has said it does not want the money, but the govt insists they have it to prevent embarrassment to ministers!!! Soon, we'll be left with no police, fire service or armed forces, not to mention services provided by local councils. What a appalling indictment of our illustrious masters in Westminster!!!
