New scheme to boost safety at Scarborough hospital
SCARBOROUGH Hospital has launched a new scheme to improve patient safety.
Scarborough and North East Yorkshire Healthcare Trust has introduced a safety comment postcard for patients to give feedback on their hospital experience.
The postcard has been introduced toencourage patients to comment on and influence all aspects of safety, and followsa similar system which helped shape the trust's privacy and dignity agenda.
Helen Noble, the trust's clinical governance manager, said patient safety remained their main priority.
"There has been a lot of work which has taken place to ensure the safety of all our patients, which includes the introduction of a patient safety forum, adoption of the patient safety first campaign and introduction of leadership walk- arounds, which are due to begin early in the new year," she said.
"We hope patients will take the time to fill in the card so that their feedback can help us make improvements to the service that we provide.
"We are committed to providing patients with the best possible care and to ensure that their safety remains our number one priority."
Postcards are available in Scarborough trust hospitals and patients have been encouraged to contact the trust if they want to get involved in matters of safety.
