Miss Scarborough Rachael Cooper joins glamour line-up
MISS SCARBOROUGH joined other beauty queens across the county to celebrate the launch of this year's Miss York competition.
Rachael Cooper attended the gathering which also celebrated the fifth anniversary of the rebirth of the Miss York contest.
Eight beauty queens, including Rachael, Miss Hull Hannah Rowe, and Rachel Richardson who is Miss Eco Scarborough 2009, from Filey, attended the pageant at Debenhams in York.
Hannah and Rachel finished runners-up to Rachael Cooper in the Miss Scarborough 2009 final.
Vivienne Lee, from Events Connect, revived the Miss York event after an absence of more than 20 years. She did the same thing in Scarborough in 2008.
Rachael said: "It was lovely to see all the girls.
"I think these competitions are fantastic, With there being so many beauty queens in Yorkshire, I hope lots of girls enter next year as there are lots of competitions going ahead next year."
Also at the event was former Miss England Georgia Horsley from Malton and current Miss York Helen Lawal, from Pick-ering.
