Man who died suddenly at home is named
A MAN who was found dead at his home in Scarborough has been formally named as Andrew Ellis.
The body of 47-year-old Mr Ellis, who was known as Andy, was found at a property in Nansen Street, near Prospect Road, on Saturday morning.
He was employed by Scarborough Borough Council as a team leader.
Police carried out investigations and have said they are satisfied that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
Jim Dillon, chief executive of Scarborough Council, said yesterday: “Sadly we can confirm that an employee of the council who was a team leader in the vehicle maintenance department at our Dean Road depot died at the weekend.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time.”
The Coroner’s Office confirmed yesterday that an inquest into the death was opened and adjourned on Monday.
Police have said that they will prepare a report which will be passed to the coroner.
They were called to Nansen Street at around 8:40am on Saturday.
