Man leapt from car in town chase

POLICE are searching for a man who leapt out of a car and chased another person through Scarborough town centre.

A witness, who reported the incident to the police, saw the man jump from a Mini Cooper at around 7pm on Tuesday in the St Thomas Street and North Street area of the town centre.

PC David Lingwood, who is investigating the incident, is keen to speak to any witnesses, and particularly the person who told police about the chase.

He added: “They may have vital information about the incident.”
