Local firefighters tackle epic march for Forces heroes

Five local firefighters are speed marching from the Cenotaph in London to York Minister in August in aid of the Help The Heroes appeal.

Three of the five strong team completed a Malton to Scarborough training run on Wednesday, one of the hottest days of the year so far.

Justin Rowe from Malton Fire Station, Mark Naylor from Whitby station, and Terence Gregg from York station (but recently based at Scarborough station), finished their run at Eden Gym, on Dunslow Road, which is one of their sponsors. All of the team are ex-Forces, and are doing the gruelling march to raise money for the charity which helps current members of the Forces. Other team members are Peter Schofield from Whitby, and Adrian Riley from York.
