Library department wins training award
THE organisation behind Scarborough Library has become the first local authority department in England to be awarded the Training Quality Standard for Employers.
The Adult and Community Services Directorate, which runs North Yorkshire’s libraries, adult social care services and record and registration offices, joins a list of organisations such as BMW, Rolls-Royce and the FA Premier League as holders of the certification, which recognises the high quality of the training provided for its staff.
Derek Law, corporate director of Adult and Community Services, said: “Gaining the Training Quality for Employers Certification is a great achievement for us. It shows our dedication to providing excellent services to the people of North Yorkshire by providing high quality training for all of our staff.
“Being the first local authority in the country to receive this accreditation demonstrates our dedication to continuous training for employees and our commitment to deliver the best possible services through a well qualified and effective workforce.”
