Jazz fans travel from far and wide
JAZZ lovers from half a world away helped the seventh Scarborough Jazz Festival go with a swing.
Visitors from as far afield as Australia and the USA turned up at the Spa to the three-day event, which ended last night and featured top-class artistes ranging from Clint Eastwood's son Kyle to Trudy Kerr and Steve Grossman.
Ex-pat Brian Coulthard travelled all the way from Charleston, West Virginia, where he has lived for four years.
He told the Evening News: "It's the second time I've flown over for the Scarborough festival because I think it's one of the best."
"I really love the town too, especially listening to music looking out over the bay – that's really special."
"I haven't enjoyed all the music, but I'm a real big band fan, Andy Panayi was fantastic."
John Foster had come all the way from Perth, Western Australia.
"The festival is a great excuse to travel and visit relatives."
"I haven't been able to see all the bands, because of family commitments, but I'm having a fantastic time," he said.
