Inquest: Butcher drank himself to death

A BUTCHER drank himself to death at a party in Scarborough an inquest heard.

Latvian-born Vitalijis Dubrovs, 32, was found collapsed on the stairs of his Victoria Road home following two consecutive nights of partying.

During his inquest at Scarborough County Count the coroner was told

toxicology reports revealed Mr Dubrovs had 500 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.

Dr Morgan, consultant pathologist at Scarborough Hospital said: "For someone who drinks socially between 300 and 350 milligrams of alcohol would be classed as a fatal level.

"Clearly this is a lot higher, and would prove a fatal amount even for someone who drank on very regular basis. The cause of death was therefore alcohol intoxication in that the amount of

alcohol he drank killed him."
