Indie rockers are Keane to play in the forest

ORGANISERS of this year's summer concerts in Dalby Forest have announced the second of the two headline acts.

Keane, winners of Brits, Grammy's and Ivor Novello awards, will play the woodland venue on Friday June 25, the night before Mick Hucknall's Simply Red take the stage.

The Indie rockers have had three consecutive Number One albums and, with a collection of hits including Everybody's Changing, Is It Any Wonder? and Somewhere Only We Know, the group has secured a place as one of Britain's best-loved bands.

Keane follow in the footsteps of previous top acts to play the 8,600-acre rustic venue including Paul Weller, Jarvis Cocker and The Beautiful South.

Cash raised by the gig will be used to care for woodlands across North Yorkshire and the Tees Valley. Organiser Paul Cody said: "It's another fantastic name to add to the Dalby play-list and a tribute to the pulling power of the forest."

Tickets costing 32, subject to booking fee, go on sale at 9am on Friday.
