A stunning beard from a competition in the USA
HAIRY invaders are set to take over Scarborough next month.
The British Beard Club have chosen the town to host their northern meet-up.
In what will, hopefully, be an all-male affair, members of the group will descend on the Spa Complex on Sunday March 4 for an afternoon of hairy frivolity.
Attendees will be able to enjoy an afternoon of beer, beards and live music at the event, which is believed to be the first of its kind in Scarborough.
The event starts at 2pm, and will be kicked off with a beard-judging competition.
Officials will try to find the best beard in the north. Although no official judging criteria is believed to exist, length, thickness, style and grooming are all believed to be essential ingredients in a prize-winning beard.
Afterwards guests will be able to catch up with old friends over a pint of real ale.
Games will be played throughout the afternoon, and there will also be vintage vinyl records on sale.
The day will conclude with a live performance by beard-friendly band Louis Barabbas and the Bedlam Six.
