Football club chiefs open to questions - COMMENT ON THIS STORY
CHIEFS at Scarborough Athletic are giving supporters a chance to have their say about the club's long-awaited move back to the town.
The club, which currently plays its home matches in Bridlington, wants to hear fans' thoughts about the proposed move back to Scarborough and a temporary home at George Pindar Community Sports College, with the residency pencilled-in to kick off at the start of the 2010-11 season.
However, the club is concerned that some fans may not be able to access the internet fans forum Surfing Seadog to pose questions, and are urging supporters to get in touch with their concerns and comments about the relocation.
Director James Hunter said: "Many questions get lost in threads on internet forums. There is also the fact that directors who may be able to answer questions are not always available to answer on the forums as soon as people may like.
"With those factors in mind the club would like supporters to submit questions to the board to be answered in the form of a frequently asked questions list which will be published in around a week's time on the club website and also in print at the club's pre-season friendly games on July 18 and 28."
Questions should be submitted to club communications director, Mr Hunter, via email at james@scarboroughathletic.com, or via post to 70 Tindall Street, Scarborough, YO12 7EE. Please mark correspondence "Pindar decision FAQs".
Messages will not be answered directly, but forwarded to a full list to be answered by those with the correct information and published.
Mr Hunter added: "The club understands the decision in principle to move back to Scarborough has brought about many questions regarding several aspects, and as always the club would like to keep as open a dialogue as possible to keep supporters informed.
"That said, there may be questions that will not be possible to answer from either a legal or confidential standpoint.
"The club will try to accommodate as many questions as possible."
