Contest winners' treats for Scarborough Mums
TWO Scarborough mums got an extra special Mother's Day surprise after their youngsters won the Evening News drawing competition.
Prizes were a bouquet from Blooms in Victoria Road and Sunday lunch for four at Ox Pasture Hall.
Gladstone Road School pupil Livvy Bourne, six, won the bouquet
for her mum, Lisa, who works in human resources at Scarborough
Sixth Form College.
Mrs Bourne, of Lawrence Grove, Newby, said: "I'm delighted – Livvy's always doing arts and crafts so I'm really pleased for her.
"Rather than sit and watch TV she always has her paper and
crayons out."
She added that on Mother's Day they will be going to watch her son,
Matthew, 10, play football.
Nine-year-old Elliot Huby, who goes to Lindhead School, won Sunday lunch for four with his drawing of mum Anita.
Mrs Huby, a nursery key worker, of Newlands Park Road, said: "I'm
really pleased - it's such a surprise!
"Elliot's really arty and sporty, so he loves drawing people and footballers."
Mrs Huby added that they hadn't yet made any plans for Mother's
Day as she loves surprises.
Every year we receive scores of fantastic drawings from children of all ages . See all the entries from our mothers day contest here...
