Carol concert packs church

ST ANDREW’S UR Church was packed to capacity when the children of Wheatcroft School, in conjunction with ‘Pop Connections’, gave a concert of traditional Christmas Carols interspersed with newly written seasonal songs.

The church is hoping for a similar turn-out on Friday when the rafters will ring again, this time to the sounds of Yorkshire Wolds Versatile Brass and Irton and Seamer School Choir.

The concert begins at 7.30pm. Tickets are available at the door or in advance from the church’s minister, the Rev Jason McCullagh, on (01723) 360094.

The church’s own carol service will be held at 6.30 pm on Wednesday December 21, then on Christmas Eve there will be a Nativity Celebration at the church at 4pm, and the Christmas Communion Service at 11.30pm.
