Business in boost for Ellie's fund
A SCARBOROUGH business is encouraging people to enjoy their five a day with a difference - and help support a fund set up in memory of a teenager.
A Touch of Thai, in Queen Street, is offering five massage sessions and gentleman's hair cut for customers from Scarborough each day for a small donation to help support Ellie's Fund.
The campaign was set up to remember Scalby School pupil Ellie Othick-Bowmaker, who died aged 14 earlier this year, after losing her fight against cancer.
John Bernard, whose partner Anchalee runs the business said: "We will be asking anyone that comes in to donate a pound, however, if they want to put in more to the fund then they can do so.
"Anchalee's daughter used to go to Scalby School and I know Ellie's grandparents so the decision to help the fund was a combination of that.
"We both hope that people will help support the fund and make as much money as possible for the charity."
