Hello Vera
Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 09:14 AMMoggies3, how easily pleased you are . . . what I am saying is the roundabout they're putting in is too small. Farm vehicles and even buses go up and down that road. I hope all those evacuated from their homes up Seamer Road are OK.

Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 08:24 AMShould not have happened but far far better to have all this 'disruption' than an explosion! Agree with #1 Hello Vera about the junction at Stony Haggs and Pasture Lane. The new traffic islands appear to be too close together to get even small cars round a roundabout. They look more like preparations for traffic lights!!! Hope they are working to the right plans - lol. Talking of work, noticed that it ground to a halt when the snow came. Four weeks to get the work finished is perhaps optimistic.

Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 02:52 AMCan't help noticing the availability to comment on all stories exept the drug dealing scumbag one, more worrying so as many decent people would have suffered confrontations with these people and would be pleased to see them out of the way at last, the conservative goverement in this country is making inroads to deal with people like this who live amongst us but continue to flout the law, was the culprit on benefits in scarborough? Were they making others lifes a misery due to their law breaking in scarborough? Scumbags should be made to pay an insurance policy taken from their benefit to ensure any damage upset etc they cause to decent people is compesated for, no claims benefit could be considered.

Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 01:36 AMFortunately this disruption was caused by "those in the know" so compensation shouldn't be a problem.

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 11:50 PMThe fumes ARE making some of us ill, some of us do live next to the leak, yes we were allowed in, ONLY after 6pm and with an escort, we werent allowed to drive our car that close and were only allowed to get to our property.... stop moaning unless this directly affects you....... (being diverted is NOT being affected!!)

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 11:30 PMMoan moan moan,so a 10metre stretch of road has been closed (which ironically if your a resident or have business round there-your allowed to drive up to beaconsfield st) and actually cut through the alleyway from beaconsfield to salisbury street to go past it!!).You all would be moaning more if it blew up or if the fumes made you feel ill!

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 05:31 PM#6, I totally agree with your concerns. We were saying more or less the same thing when we were sat on the bus, that it wasn't very good for people who lived in between the road closures, we were thinking more of the elderly folk, but you are of course quite right about parents with children at Hinderwell School. That must be an absolute nightmare..

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 05:23 PMTSbnp just think of the parents of children at Hinderwell school! If they live on Oak Road or the streets along that way, how do they get their young children home? There are no streets behind Salisbury Stores that link to West Bank, Springhill Road etc. They have a very long walk home round Queen Margaret's Road unless they can get across Weaponess Valley Road coach park.

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 05:18 PMI hope the police are going to keep an eye on my car overnight. I've had to leave it at Edgehill Road as they wouldn't allow me any further along Seamer Road. I did find it odd that I couldn't drive any closer, but the children in Hinderwell and Springhead schools weren't evacuated and were allowed out at hometime. I wonder if that is because the gas leak is 100's of yards away.

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 05:15 PMNot only car drivers inconvenienced, we have just spent nearly three quarters of an hour on a bus from Morrison's, which had to go via Queen Margaret's Road to get into town.

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 02:59 PMThis will certainly test scarboroughs traffic woes especially when plans are passed to completely close the road in summer to replace the whole gas line.

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 02:59 PMAs Stoney Haggs Roiad is closed today there is no problem, with cars turning right onto SHR. We (the residents of Seamer) have been waiting years for this roundabout, sorrry if thev road works cause Hello Vera a bit of inconvenience but this junctions has caused me a daily problem for over 20 years.
Hello Vera
Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 02:12 PMThat is going to be fun watching everyone going round town via Seamer. The new road works at the bottom of Stony Haggs road have made the junction so small, if two cars want to turn up S H Road, that's it. The road is blocked. Who ever had the idea of doing that to the junction needs their backside kicking!
