Bike raffle for soldier Tom raises £1,200

MORE than £1,200 has been raised for injured Scarborough soldier Tom Davis-Lawlor after a quad bike was raffled off.

Tickets have been on sale for 1 since late January for the 110cc bike, which was donated by local garage owner Tony Poole after he acquired it as part of a promotional deal.

The bike was won by Tiffany Rowe, after Tom’s brother Dale Davis drew her ticket from 1,265 entries at the SOBA bar in Crown Crescent.

Bar manager Linda Boyd said: “I think it is absolutely brilliant to raise so much. I would like to thank all of our customers who bought tickets – their generosity has been fantastic.”

Mr Poole added: “I’m well pleased, I didn’t expect to raise this much. When we made the draw it was a really good night. There’s been so much interest.”
