Admiration from the Prince of Wales (View Video and Gallery)

PRINCE Charles said he was honoured to meet the staff at St Catherine's Hospice, when he met staff and patients today.

The Prince of Wales was greeted by the chief executive Lee Barker as well as 60 pupils from Newby and Scalby School.

Charles chatted to the children for several minutes, asking them how their first two weeks back at school had been and what they did during their summer holidays.

He then had a tour of the hospice, talking to staff and patients.

Lee Barker said: "It was a fantastic visit and he is such a wonderful person.

"There is such a buzz around the hospice now and he spent such a long time talkng to the staff and patients. He said he admired what we do and that does mean a lot to us. We were all thrilled to see him."
