Accident teenager grateful for help

A TEENAGER wants to track down the people who helped her after a horrifying accident.

Kirsty Jackson fell 15ft down a rocky gully at Danes Dyke, Bridlington, after losing her grip on a rope swing.

Now she wants to find the people who stayed with her until an air ambulance arrived to take her to hospital.

Kirsty, 15, said: "I don't remember letting go of the rope swing, but I fell down a ditch, hitting one side then the other and landed on rocks at the bottom. My friends thought I was just winded but I couldn't move and struggled to breathe. There was a lady with her dad and two kids and she sat talking to me, trying to keep me awake because I had banged my head."

Initially, there were fears about Kirsty's neck and back – and she was put in a neck brace and on a spinal board.

Because of the difficulty in accessing the gully, an air ambulance was called to take her to Scarborough Hospital.

Fortunately, her injuries were not as severe as first feared, and she was released from hospital the next day.

As well as wanting to find the woman who stayed with Kirsty, of Bridlington's Viking Road, they also thanked the emergency crews involved in the rescue.
