Rupert gets on board to add a touch of magic!

A HOLLYWOOD wizard cast his spell on Bridlington beach during a new tourist campaign.

Rupert Grint, who starred as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter blockbuster film series, visited the beach to promote holidays in the UK.

The actor shot an advertisement for the VisitEngland campaign at a popular surfing spot, with the final version set to be aired on Thursday, March 8.

Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire said: “It is great that Bridlington is to star in this high profile campaign to promote domestic tourism.

“It really is one of the jewels in Yorkshire’s coastline.

“Yorkshire and its brilliant beaches will be firmly at the front of people’s minds when they are thinking about booking their break this year and that is great news for the county.”

The campaign aims to showcase the UK and highlight key events such as the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Celebrities including Stephen Fry, Julie Walters and Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery are also fronting the project.
