AN EAST Coast restaurant has scooped an award after beating off stiff competition from across the North of England.

Green's Restaurant & Bistro in Whitby triumphed at this year's Northern Hospitality Awards by winning the Best Restaurant category, sponsored by the British Hospitality Association and the Restaurant Association.
