SCORES of zookeepers from all over the country met at Flamingo Land, at Kirby Misperton, near Malton, for an annual conference.
The event was organised by the Association of British and Irish Wild Animal Keepers and featured a variety of guest speakers.

Nearly 90 people attended the two-day event, including zookeepers, students, zoo managers and conservation officers.

Delegates also got to enjoy a tour of Flamingo Land's zoo.

The theme was the International Year of Biodiversity and presentations were given on subjects such as conservation and animal husbandry.

Flamingo Land's zoo manager Ross Snipp, who is also the association's newly-elected chairman, said: "It was a brilliant success.

"It was really nice to be able to introduce people to this area and we had some excellent feedback."
