YOUNG people have been brushing up on creative arts in a range of sessions throughout their summer holidays.
The 11 to 19 year olds have enjoyed painting art boards, glass painting as well as banner, model and jewellery making using different materials during the sessions.

They have been held at different venues across Scarborough including Scalby School and Pindar School and have been organised by North Yorkshire County Council as part of its Time Out holiday activities.

College students who had been on the sessions when they were younger came back as young leaders to help out and gain art awards.

Jenny Stamford, district youth worker with the 4 Youth service, North Yorkshire County Council, said: “They made some amazing pieces of artwork. They went home adorned in jewellery and with artwork to put on their bedroom walls.

“We also did T-shirt printing so many of them will have been wearing their T-shirts during the summer.”

Other activities during Time Out have included sports, dance, drama and outdoor pursuits.
