PLANNING permission for a new sewerage pumping stat-ion is being sought by York-shire Water.
A section of sewers need to be diverted underneath the new A165 Osgodby Bypass to make way for its foundations.

A Yorkshire Water spokes-person said: “Yorkshire Water on behalf of North Yorkshire County Council has requested planning permission for a new sewerage pumping station. The construction of the road means that a section of sewers underneath will have to be diverted to make way for the foundations which means a pumping station is needed to maintain the sewerage flow.”

Copies of the application and plans have been submitted at Scarborough council’s planning department.

Anyone who wishes to make representations about this application should write to David Johns at Business and Environmental Services, Development and Country-side Service, Minerals and Waste Planning, County Hall, Northallerton, DL7 8AH.
