THE cameras will be rolling at Seamer and Irton School after a Friends group donated thousands of pounds to them.
The Friends of Seamer and Irton School donated £2,500 to staff and pupils following months of fundraising events.

Teachers at the school were asked to produce a wish list detailing items they wanted to spend the money on.

Dave Marshall, chairman of the Friends group, said: “Over the past two or three years we have helped the school in any way that we can.

“It is important to us that everything we do is for the benefit of the children. They are a great school and a great set of kids, they are worth every penny.”

Staff chose to spend the money on camcorders, new furniture, and play equipment among other things.

Headteacher Jonathan Wanless said: “We chose to get some camcorders as they will be of great use in the school. We have already used them to record the school production of Joseph and produce DVDs for the parents.

“We are very grateful to all the efforts of the Friends and the committee members.”
