A STABBING victim, found injured on a town centre street, has been discharged from Scarborough Hospital.
Two men have been released on police bail in connection with the incident pending further inquiries.

The victim, who suffered stab wounds to his torso, was found in the Newborough area some time between 9.30pm and 10pm on Monday.

He was taken to Scarbor-ough Hospital by ambulance while police sealed off the area at the top of Eastborough.

Detectives spent most of Tuesday continuing their investigations in the area, including residential flats, but the exact location of the attack remains unclear.

Detective Inspector Tony Quinn, who is leading the investigation, has appealed for anyone who was in the Newborough area, near to the junction with St Thomas Street, to contact officers.

One witness, who did not want to be named, was walking home on Monday night when she was stopped at the police cordon. When she heard someone had been stabbed she said: “It’s terrible because I live near there.”

Anyone with information should contact Scarborough police on 0845 6060247.
