PARENTS of under-fives throughout the area are urged to join Barnardo's sponsored Big Toddle to raise cash for children with disabilities and parents who need help in caring for them.
Parents can get involved by joining an event organised by a local pre-school, playgroup or nursery, taking part in a Barnardo's toddle or organising their own toddle event with family and friends.
Barnardo's spokeswoman, the celebrity Melinda Messenger, said: "The children have loved taking part in the Barnardo's Big Toddle as they have grown up. It's always a fun day and it's for such a great cause.
"They come away full of pride with their medals and certificates, and most importantly with an understanding of the children they have been raising money for."
Organisers hope to top last year's national fundraising total of £1.2 million with even more toddlers taking part in the fun in 2009.
