Scarborough's university to honour Sir Ben Kingsley with honorary degree

ONE of Britain's greatest actors was today due to visit Scarborough to receive an honorary degree.
Snainton-born Sir Ben Kingsley, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Gandhi in the 1982 film of the same name, has been further recognised by the University of Hull Scarborough Campus.

He will be presented with the award at the university's graduation ceremony at the Spa this afternoon.

Sir Ben, 64, who has starred in such films as Schindler's List and Sexy Beast, will next year be awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
