STUDENTS from Scarborough College's combined cadet force were put through their paces when they took part in military training activities.
The students attended their annual camp at Wathgill, Catterick, for the exercise where they tried their hand at kayaking, canoeing, rafting and climbing.

The camp is run by qualified instructors including British Army soldiers, the Territorial Army, Cadet Training Teams, Officer Training Corps, CCF Contingent Staff and nationally qualified civilians.

Captain Bill Parker from the college said: "The week of early mornings, hard training and late finishes was a hard and tiring week.

Each cadet had personal hardships and individuals overcame their personal fears.

"Everyone gained in confidence with their personal achievements giving 100 per cent and by the end of the week they were transformed into a smart, articulate, responsive and uniformed group who were a credit to work with."

Preparations are now in hand for next year's camp at Longmoor Camp, Hampshire.
