KEEN rower Barry Samples will be putting his oar in it – but its all for a good cause!
The Scarborough Amateur Rowing Club member intends rowing from Scarborough to Whitby to raise money for St Catherine's Hospice.
The challenge is expected to take around five hours.

Jane Richardson, hospice fundraiser, said: "We wish Barry good luck and hope the seas are calm for his trip."

Colleagues at the rowing club will be helping by providing and manning the club's safety escort boat.

Mr Samples is also undertaking the challenge to raise awareness of the sport with the hope of attracting more young people.

Anyone interested in sponsoring Mr Samples can contact him on 07880 563259.
