A CHARITY golf event in Scarborough proved a big hit by raising £700 for a good cause.
A total of 28 golfers attended the annual Pindar Social Club Charity Day at South Cliff Golf Club.

Andy Morell and Mark Mason were the overall winners with high scores of more than 50 points while Lee Sellars won the booby prize for the most amusing shot of the day.

Harry Forkin, of Pindar Graphics, said “This very enjoyable golf day has been running for several years and we at Pindar Graphics are pleased to support St Catherine’s Hospice.”

Hospice fundraiser Penny Campbell said: “I am delighted to receive this year’s donation of £700 which brings the total to more than £3,600. Saint Catherine’s Hospice provides care and support for the patients and their families and this total would provide 25 sessions of bereavement counselling. It was really nice to meet the golfers and be able to personally thank them and the Pindar Group for their continued and loyal support.

Mrs Campbell is now organising an Am-Am golf tournament for teams of four at South Cliff Golf Club to be held on July 28.

If anyone – male or female – would like to enter please ring the fundraising department on (01723) 378406.
