A SCARBOROUGH hairdressers is suspected to have been targeted by yobs firing air rifles after a hole appeared in its window.
Police are investigating the incident, which took place at Signature Hair in Ramshill Road over the bank holiday weekend.

Owner Rebecca Boothby said: "The hole looks as though it has been caused by an air rifle, although we have not actually found the pellet yet. There have been problems in this area before with people using pellet guns, although my studio has not previously been targeted."

A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said £50 worth of damage was caused to the window, adding: "It could have been caused by a simple stone or a pellet and is still being investigated."

Any witnesses or people with information should contact the police on 0845 6060247 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
