POLICE are appealing for information after two cars nearly collided in Scalby Road.
Two red hatchback cars were being driven along the A171 from Burniston to Scarborough when one is believed to have overtaken the other.

The car that had overtaken then travelled along Scalby Road and almost collided with a silver car at the junction of Coldyhill Lane, near Proudfoots.

The near-collision happened on Sunday at 4pm.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "Anyone with information about the manner of driving from either of the red hatchback cars during or prior to the incident, in particular the drivers of a silver Nissan Micra and a Land Rover Discovery which were in the area at the time, are asked to contact Traffic Constable Alison Travis on 08456060247."
