SCARBOROUGH Hospital has a new boss.
Richard Sunley, currently director of operations at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, will take over from Christine Green who has been “minding the shop” at Scarborough and North East Yorkshire Healthcare NHS Trust. Mr Sunley, whos
e current Trust has just been awarded the HSJ “Acute Healthcare Organisation of the Year”, said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Scarborough. There’s no question that we have challenges ahead of us as we continue to deliver and improve the quality of healthcare the people of Scarborough and the surrounding area need and deserve.
“I have fond memories of my childhood and teenage years in Yorkshire and am looking forward to returning to this great part of the country – my two young daughters are very excited about donkey rides on Scarborough beach.”
Trust chairman Sir Michael Carlisle said: “Richard’s extensive experience and contribution to the NHS to date equips him well to do the job at Scarborough and I look forward to working with him. I would also like to pay tribute to Christine Green, who has worked incredibly hard.”
