EMERGENCY rescue teams took to the water after receiving calls about a suspected boat fire.
At around 10.05am yesterday the coastguard received numerous calls from worried onlookers, concerned about smoke coming from a fishing boat off the castle headland.
The Scarborough offshore lifeboat was launched and the coastguard was also in attendance.
Once the boat was located the rescue crews realised the smoke was due to an engine fault, and the 30ft fishing vessel, called Challenge II, was towed back to the harbour.
