THE time has come once again for Scarborough people to take to the inflatable battlefields and get soaked to the skin for charity.
St Catherine’s Hospice are preparing for their sixth annual It’s a Knockout Competition and are appealing for teams to join in with the fun.
Organisers are looking for seven teams of 10 people to take part in this year’s contest at Yorkshire Coast College on Sunday July 13.
Fundraiser Louise Leah said: “We are looking for teams to take up the challenge of a series of fun, foamy and inflatable games, which are reminiscent of the 1970s television show, whilst raising a sponsorship target of £500 per team for patient care at Saint Catherine’s Hospice.
“It will also be a great day out for families too. This year we will be having stalls, food and refreshments, a climbing wall, bouncy castles and rides and children’s entertainment.”
The competition involves challenging games reflecting the “buckets of water, foam and inflatable fun” of the television show.
Last year’s event was split into two competitions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, which were won by MKM Building Supplies, and Nippy Taxis.
If you are interested in entering a team in this year’s event contact Louise Leah or Jane Richardson in fundraising department at St Catherine’s Hospice on (01723) 378406.
A similar event takes place on the previous day in Malton.
