Jewellery lots go under the auction hammer

THOUSANDS of pounds worth of jewellery is up for auction in Scarborough tomorrow.
About 200 lots of jewellery from three South Cliff estates are up for grabs at David Duggleby Auctioneers and Valuers.

The sale in the Vine Street Salerooms starts at 11am and estimates of items range from £50 to £10,000.

The jewellery includes necklaces, bracelets, bracelet watches, ear-rings, rings and brooches.

There is a Caldwell and Co Philadelphia mid 20th century diamond butterfly brooch set with 86 round brilliant cut stones and 14 long baguette diamonds, two pearls and ruby eyes estimated between £5,000 and £10,000.

A diamond cluster ring set with a central pearl tested to 18ct is valued from £1,000 to £1,500.

A Victorian diamond leaf brooch set with 44 old cut stones is estimated between £700 and £1,000.

Other items include an Omega ladies watch hallmarked 9ct, old-cut diamond and sapphire star cluster brooch/pendant and a pair of sapphire and diamond cluster ear-rings.
