PEOPLE looked on in amazement as the video of the smash-hit song (Is This The Way To) Amarillo was re-enacted in Scarborough yesterday.
Scarborough's version of the Comic Relief video was filmed ahead of the Summer Spectacular shows at the Spa.

Tony Peers, whose company puts on the shows each year, decided to film the version with the stars of the show as well as members of Scarborough Lifeboat crew.

The lifeboat slipway was used as a backdrop for the video which also involves Jack Stephenson's open top Shoreline Suncruiser bus on a tour around the town. Scenes were also filmed in the Brunswick Centre.
The part of Peter Kay was taken by Neil Hurst.

Mr Peers, who dressed in drag for the Amarillo video, said they had lots of fun making it. The video will be shown during the summer shows.
He said: "We thought it was a good way of promoting the summer season because we do sometimes have a problem with getting local people down to the show.
"We just hope to generate a bit of local interest and get a few more to the show.
Comedy instrumentalist Dick Van Winkle, principal singer Linda Newport, dancers from Julie Hatton, the production team from the Grand Hotel and Neil Hurst will also be featured in the video.
The Summer Spectacular show will be on at the Spa from May 25 to September 24.

The song, recorded for Comic Relief, has revived crooner Tony Christie's career. The video features Peter Kay miming to the song, joined by a host of celebrities.
