Improvement work on Scarborough town-centre paths

PEDESTRIANS in Newborough, Scarborough, faced a minor detour while work to improve the footpath was carried out.
The work is part of planned improvements to the footpath from Queen Street to St Thomas Street, and Scarborough Council's technical services manager Bruce Bedford said it involved the removal and replacement of the paving.

At approximately 100 yds a month of footpath repairs, in which century are SBC hoping to complete the rest of the appalling paths in the whole Borough.

The pavement is only being repaired because the council are liable if any of the public have an accident because of said pavements condition.

Ohterwise it would remain as it is.

S.B.C. want to take a good look at the length of the
prescient, it's out dated footpath and pavement blocks are a disgrace and never washed down. If you go abroad you always see the high powered jets of water being used to clean the streets early in the mornings. If you were to put a high powered jet of water across our towns high-street it would lift all the pavements, oh and YES the council tax is rising again, they do a good job our town council don't they............... not?.
