THE first of several special "Green Community Day" events has been held in Scarborough.
Residents from Beck Hole in Cayton were invited to make up a hanging basket for display outside the Yorkshire Coast Homes' residential home.

The YCH Green Group was set up two years ago with the aim of reducing business and customer CO2 emissions.

"Along with this event we are running a photography competition where entrants are asked to send us pictures of the natural world around them," said Customer Initiatives Officer, Claire Simpson.

"We have also asked our residents to design a logo for the YCH Green Group and the closing date for both competitions is July 31."

Further information is available from Claire Simpson on (01723) 343071.
