CAYTON Gala got off to a lively start with a successful craft show and hog roast.
More than 200 people attended the Jubilee Hall craft show, with takings up on last year.

Organiser Kate Buchan said: “It was a brilliant day. The weather was kind and we couldn’t have got the gala off to a better start.”

The hog roast at The Star Inn, in Main Street, also proved a hit with landlord Bryn Kneeshaw in the stocks and a show by popular entertainer Danny Wilde.

Other events this week include last night’s fun run, tonight’s art exhibition at Cayton village hall, a golf classic at Filey golf course on Thursday and a children’s tea party at Playdale farm on Friday.

Sunday’s main gala includes a procession, and a sky dive by the Great Britain display team.
