A MAN in his 40s, who was injured in an alleged assault at a Filey pub, remains in a serious condition in hospital.
The man, who was a visitor to the area, suffered serious head injuries in a fracas at The Star in Mitford Street which started at about midnight on Sunday.

A 39-year-old man, who was arrested in connection with the incident, has now been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Landlady Lynn Barr said the fight involved about 10 men and women – believed to be from the south of England – and a few local men. The pub was cordoned off by the police until about 2pm on Monday.
