A FRAIL pensioner in her 80s was left very shaken after she was thrown to the ground and robbed in broad daylight.
Her cruel attacker pounced on the elderly woman as she was walking in Londesborough Road, Scarborough.

The attacker ran off with the handbag – leaving her in a state of shock.

Scarborough police have launched a hunt for the culprit and would like to speak to a man who was seen running towards steps in St John's Road.

He was white, with very dark hair, aged between 20 and 30-years-old. He was wearing track suit bottoms with a white stripe.

The victim was too frightened to make a public comment.

He said: "If anyone was there I'd expect them to give us a call so we can nip this in the bud before it becomes a big problem.

"If anyone has any information they should look at their conscience and come in and speak to us."

Police said today that anyone with any information on Monday's incident at about noon should contact PC Lord of Scarborough police on 0845 6060247.

He said the victim had been very shaken and shocked by her ordeal.
