Daughter and mum recovering after fall from Friars Gardens flat

A 27-year-old woman and her three-year-old daughter are still recovering in hospital after plunging 30ft through the first floor window of their Scarborough flat.
The mother is described as "comfortable" in Scarborough Hospital while the child is said to be "stable" following the incident in Friars Gardens in Scarborough's Old Town.

A 37-year-old man has appeared at Scarborough Magistrates' court in connection with the incident which happened at 2.45am on Sunday.

Abdul Rob, of Friars Gardens, is charged with false imprisonment and threats to kill the woman.

Rob, who did not enter any pleas at the magistrates' court hearing was remanded in custody and will next appear at York Crown Court on September 1.
