Clairvoyant Jeanette Seals, 47, was seen winning the money on Sky One's Are You Smarter Than A 10 Year Old last night.

Jeanette, of Asquith Avenue, said: "I was really pleased to win the money. I went on the show to have a new and different adventure. I was hoping to raise a nice sum of money and what I got was just perfect,"

Jeanette, who writes an astrology column for the Evening News' sister paper the Trader, spent the money on two holidays with her children.

She took Michael, 15, Jack, 13, and Joe, 10 to Tenerife and then the south of France.

Contestants have to tackle questions on subjects spanning the National Curriculum that any 10- year-old should be able to answer.

The most someone can win is £250,000 and contestants can choose whether to go it alone and trust their own knowledge or ask the help of one of their 10-year-old classmates.

She said: "I had an absolutely wonderful experience. Noel was fantastic and we had so much fun filming the show. " It was just what I expected and more."
