A SCARBOROUGH charity worker, who will soon be taking a group of children to London, was delighted to receive a letter from Buckingham Palace.
Jackie Link, treasurer of the Little Foot Trust children's charity, wrote to Prince Philip in the hope of organising a guided visit.
Just two weeks later she got a reply from his assistant equerry Capt Alexander Forster who has arranged for the group to be shown around the Royal Mews.
Mrs Link said: "I was so surprised to get this letter – I'm absolutely thrilled. All the children are really looking forward to it."
The Little Foot Trust has been taking children who might not otherwise get a holiday to London for the past five years.
A group of 12 children aged 10 and 11 will be going on a five-day trip on February 14.
The youngsters will also visit Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and the Tower of London, go to the Imax cinema, bowling and swimming.
Mrs Link thanked all who had supported the trip, particularly Don Robinson, Betta Motoring and Julie Hatton.
She said: "We have had such fantastic feedback about these visits. It's the highlight of the year for everyone involved."
