A Scarborough soldier has just finished public duties at Buckingham Palace.
Captain Nigel Tully MBE joined the Royal Engineers at 20 and was commissioned two years ago after moving up through the ranks.

The Royal Engineers spent five weeks guarding Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London and St James Palace on a 48 hours on/48 hours off basis.

The regiment last completed public duties 21 years ago.

Captain Tully led his troop for the Changing of the Guard on a number of occasions and his family – wife Janette, proud dad Eddie and stepmum Marion – were able to join him on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace after which they were invited to St James Palace for lunch.
